My trusty ‘post it’ tape comes into play and I divide by 4. And, I find it…in all the ways that seems to fit, simplicity, strength, design elements and principles. The essence comes forward. Do the Math.

Searching for meaning and not ‘packing too much in my suitcase’ becomes more clear.

Yes, this is simply cropping and a bit more. It is important to let design strengthen your intention too.

Here is one more, plein air field note drawing: divide by 3…taped in 3, all have lovely shapes, expanse, all 3 compositions of one view and with great promise.

OK, one more.

The divisions, simplify, creates new direction and the essence comes forward for the next steps.
